Thames Water awards contracts under its £60m+ Phosphorus Reduction Programme

Thames Water has awarded a number of contracts for the supply of technology and services under its £60-million plus Phosphorus Reduction Programme framework.

The framework agreement, which is worth up to an estimated £60.73 million in total, covers the supply of new technology to meet more stringent requirements to reduce phosphorus content in treated waste water going into rivers. This will help the utility to comply with new water framework and habitats directive requirements.

The contract was tendered in the following Lots:

  • Lot 1 High Phosphorus Consent Level — 0,8 mg/l and Above (£11.945 million) - Core scope for the supply of the tertiary treatment plant along with all necessary equipment, instruments, ancillaries and media.
  • Lot 2 Medium Phosphorus Consent Level (<0,8 mg/l to 0,4 mg/l) £16.575 million - Core scope includes design, manufacture, FAT, deliver, install (if required), test and commissioning of a complete tertiary treatment plant in accordance with the technical specification
  • Lot 3 Tight Phosphorus Consent Level <0,4 mg/l) £32.21 million Framework contract duration is for an initial period of 5 years with extension options to extend up by a further three years.

 

Seven companies have been awarded contracts under the framework.

ATAC Solutions Ltd and Colloide Engineering Systems have been awarded contracts under Lot 3 and Evergreen Water Solutions Ltd has won a Lot 2 contract.

Bluewater Bio Ltd, Eliquo Hydrok Ltd, FLI Water Ltd and Veolia Water Technologies have all been awarded contracts under Lots 2 and 3.
